Compact

 

The Compact is an agreement between the voluntary and community sector and statutory organisations such as the police, the council and the local health authority about the way they work together to improve services within the community.

 

B&NES Compact

 

The B&NES Compact, is one of many that has been agreed across the country with its aim to improve mutual understanding and encourage a more effective working relationship. The Codes of Good Practice give more detailed guidance on how this agreement operates in the four main areas of, Equalities, Funding, Involvement and Volunteering. Wiltshire Compact

 

This Compact has been developed by a partnership board made up of statutory agencies and membership organisations from the voluntary and community sector in Wilsthire. Over 1000 voluntary and community groups have been consulted in its development.

Compact Events

 

“Building Better Communities Through Stronger Partnerships”, a free half-day workshop to share good practice in partnership working between the voluntary and public sectors.

Albemarle Centre, Taunton

  • Representatives from voluntary and community groups and charities

  • Representatives from Local Authorities, Primary Care Trusts, and other public bodies

  • Parliamentarians

  • Commissioners and those involved in service delivery

  • Compact workers and champions


Across England, the voluntary and public sectors are using the Compact – the agreement between the sector and the Government which delivers strong partnerships and builds better communities.

In this participatory event, led by your South West Regional Leader Trevor Hazelgrove, you’ll explore better partnerships and discuss how to use the Compact to deliver better ways of working. You’ll refresh your vision for how working together can improve lives and build communities, and generate practical actions to take away and implement. You can read the sample agenda here.
