Membership Benefits

Membership of Develop is FREE and gives members the opportunity to participate in the governance and policy making of a dynamic and forward looking charity. There are also some material benefits such as discounted rates for services and resources available. Develop has a resource centre including a library of up-to-date publications, Volunteering database, Website, provides a Directory of Voluntary Organisations and regular Newsletter. However, Develop needs the active involvement and support of groups and individuals in order to develop local voluntary organisations by providing information, advice and support, and represent the needs to funders and policy makers. The signing of the Agreement and Guarantee is a demonstration of your commitment.

Voting Rights

Group members will be asked to nominate a delegate from within their own organisation to vote on their behalf on matters raised at the AGM.

Delegate members may be nominated for election to the Executive Committee (Board of Trustees).

Membership Terms & Conditions

Once you have become a member your membership becomes permanent unless you specifically ask to be removed. Please notify us of any changes to your contact details.

Guarantors

Consistent with the requirement of the Charity Commission and Company Law, members are required to give their written consent to act as Guarantors. In the unlikely event of the liquidation of the company a Guarantor may be requested to make a payment of not more than £1.00 (one pound).

Every member promises, if the Charity is dissolved he, she or it remains a member or within 12 months afterwards, to pay up to £1 towards the costs of dissolution and the liabilities incurred by the Charity while the contributor was a member.
